Lauren Leung, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. CH, MSAOM
Lauren Leung holds a Master's of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She spent 2 years in China studying Chinese before entering Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and graduating from its sister school, South Baylo University in Los Angeles, CA. She studied the programs from both schools in its original language, Chinese, which gives her access to the ancient wisdom of classical physicians. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Lauren is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese dialect). Lauren is licensed in both the state of North Carolina and California. California currently holds the strictest acupuncture licensure in the United States. In addition, she holds a Diplomate in Acupuncture (Dipl. Ac.) and a Diplomate in Chinese Herbology (Dipl. C.H.) by the National Certification
Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Lauren was first fascinated with acupuncture's effects when she first encountered it as a teenager and saw how acupuncture was able to heal her tennis coachs severe tennis elbow problem, helping him avoid surgery. When she was studying abroad in China, she once again encountered Chinese Medicine and saw its amazing effects in instantly ridding a splitting migraine headache with Chinese herbs, and thus decided to go into this field of study.
Lauren continues to advance her knowledge through continuing education programs and self study of the Chinese classical texts in medicine. She has studied with David Euler and Kiiko Matsumoto for several years to learn Kiiko style Japanese acupuncture, which is a highly systemized palpation method for diagnosis and treatment protocol options based on the Chinese medical classics.
